“Paula” is an original Annette Himstedt doll from the Barefoot Children Series

 Paula is an original Annette Himstedt doll from the Barefoot Children series, 1986. She measures 26 inches in height and is in very good condition. Paula has long straight brown hair and deep brown eyes.  Her clothes are original and the expressionless look on her face is one of solitude. The artist signs on the back of the neck that Paula is an original doll by Annette Himstedt, her signature and year of origin, designed in Germany, the name of the doll, and the copyright. Annette’s signature or initials are also engraved on every limb to make forgeries impossible. Paula was purchased from an estate sale so I do not know her complete history. She does come with her certificate but not her original box.

 Explanation for rating less than mint condition:

When I was taking her picture there was some hair loss when straighten.  There are no signs of hair loss from a visual inspection but only from the strays while photographing.  She does seen to have been displayed in an open clean environment. Her dress has no stains or faded spots but does shows signs of age.
